- NO LOADED FIREARMS ALLOWED, except mine, of course! All firearms should be presented to the shop with chambers displayed unless the purpose of the visit is to remove a stuck round.
- A government-issued picture ID is required to drop off AND pick up all firearms. Federal Law dictates I can ONLY return a gun to THE person who dropped it off. NO EXCEPTIONS.
- Estimates are just that. I will give you my best guess on the completion time and cost. You are welcome to give me a not-to-exceed dollar value— a stopping point for your job. Otherwise, I will work until the job you specified is complete.
- Firearms not paid for and picked up within 60 days of work completion automatically become the store's property. I may dispose of it/them as I see fit with no obligation or recompense to you. Please pay for and pick up your firearms.
- I perform safety checks on all firearms that come in the shop. I will not knowingly allow ANY gun to leave the shop with safety(s), either internal or manual, that do not function. You are responsible for any/all costs associated with my correcting defective safety. Please note that manufacturers often call magazine interlocks " safeties " when they are interlocks. Because it is not an actual safety, I can turn off this feature should you wish it was disabled.
- Workmanship generally carries a 30-day guarantee. Manufacturer parts warranties may be in effect as well. Manufacturer warranties do not cover my labor costs. I am NOT responsible for the misuse or abuse you subject your firearm to. Further, should you injure yourself or anyone else or anything else on purpose or by accident, you bear complete responsibility.
- I'm not Walmart—I am low volume, do custom work, and am self-employed. I want to provide you with the best workmanship, recommendations, and service possible. And I want to do the same for everyone else, too, so please bear that in mind when you ask how long before your work is complete! Also, I know how much you love your firearm. However, you probably want me to spend my time working on your firearm instead of talking to you on the phone about it!
- I perform all function checks with snap caps (dummy rounds). At your discretion, I can perform live ammunition checks on most firearms at additional cost. You must provide the specific ammunition you intend to use in the gun so I can perform the tests. Some work may require you to offer ammunition samples for me to test. Some repairs/modifications/upgrades necessitate test firing. I'll charge you the cost if you do not provide ammunition for this purpose.
- I reserve the right to refuse to perform any work or make any sales to anyone for any reason I choose, specify, or do not (in other words, I can refuse service and don't have to tell you why if I don't want to).
- I will not lower trigger weights on either handguns or long guns to less than four pounds as a matter of safety for carry firearms or hunting firearms. For strictly target or competition firearms, if applicable, I am willing to lower the trigger weight to as low as two pounds, assuming, of course, the design of the gun supports doing so.
- I charge a minimum of 15 minutes for any job unless it is listed in my baseline of prices, in which case I charge the greater of the two. For welding and/or machine shop work, I charge a minimum of 1/2 hour at the appropriate rate.
